These events enable individual families to partake in our Group Education Offerings and Group Education Rates, without organizing a group!

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Locomotion: An In-Depth Look
What is a Skeleton?
Recommended Grades: K-5th
Check In- 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Program- 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
"What is a Skeleton?" introduces students to the basics of the skeletal system and the similarities shared by vertebrates! Students begin by discussing an overview of the human skeleton, its components and roles. Each student then builds their own basic skeleton out of craft materials as an introduction to scientific models.
Locomotion: An In-Depth Look
Recommended Grades: 6th-12th
Check In- 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Program- 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
"Locomotion: An In-Depth Look" familiarizes students with seven modes of animal locomotion and their subtypes. Through hands-on observation of various skeletal specimens, students will work in teams to identify and define the types of movement, and present their findings to the class.
