SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology is proud to offer STEM classes for all families over winter break! Come join us for hands-on educational programs and learn all about animals and the wonderful world of osteology.

Wednesday, Dec. 19th

Amazing Animal Adaptations

Recommended Grades: K - 5th

All animals have adaptations that help them to survive their environment! This program teaches students to identify a variety of skeletal and external features that enable animals to hunt, hide, navigate, find a mate and more.

Thursday, Dec. 20th

Animal CSI

Recommended Grades: 5th - 8th

Read the bones to discover the story written in them. Students will be introduced to the world of forensic science and learn how to identify pathologies (evidence of trauma and disease) found on a variety of animal bones. Students will practice critical thinking skills and teamwork.

Friday, Dec. 21st

Keys to Identification

Recommended Grades: 5th - 8th

Students will work in teams to locate and measure various skull features. Using dichotomous keys, students will identify various types of animals in order to practice measurement, observation, and critical thinking skills.
